A prayer to Murugan to rid one of disease

The core of this song was conceived while lying in a Bengaluru hospital bed after undergoing surgery. It was developed into the full version while travelling back to Trichy (7/12/15 to 11/12/15). 

It pleads with the Lord Subrahmanya, the peacock rider (mayUra vahana), the commander of the army of the d'EvAs (sura sEnApathE) to grant the boon (varam ugantharuL) of  freedom from disease (piNIgaL nIngida). It requests Him to save me by holding my hand (karam pidithennaik kAppARRuvAy) so that fevers and other illnesses (suram upAthaigaL) vanish in a moment (nodiyil kaLainthida).

It asks him to forgive my sin of not praying to him all these days (unaip paNiyAthu pizai purinthenE) which is only due to the excess suffering from past karma (vinaip payanAlE miga varunthiyE). The one who stole the heart of the maiden from the millet field (thinaip pulamagaL manam kavarnthavA), please save me (enaip purantharuL) so disease (midi) is eliminated (aganRida)

Note that the raaga mudra occurs in the very first word. 

Similar examples of first word raaga mudra are Mohana raama (Tyagaraja), GaanamurthE (?Tyagaraja), Sri Abhayamba, Sri Varalakshmi and Kalavati kalaasanayuvati,  (Muthuswami Dikshithar), Saraswathi dayai nithi nee gathi (Papanasam Sivan)

Aarabhimaanam vaithaadarippaar ennai by Tanjore Panchanatha Iyer is also one such but then this is a raaga maalika in which every line bears the raaga mudra. So is the case with saarangan marugane (I learnt only today that it was composed by Yaazhpaanam N Veeramani Iyer who has also written Karpagavalli nin porpathangal pidiththEn) or nalinakaanthimathim (you live and learn, only today I came to know that this was composed by Madurai Krishnaswami)

புரந்தருள் = புரந்து அருள்: காத்து அருள், அனுக்ரஹித்து அருள்
மிடிய கன்றிட = மிடி அகன்றிட: வேதனை அகன்றிட (மிடி என்ற  சொல்லுக்கு, வறுமை என்ற பொருளும் உண்டு)
